Silvia Dalla Benetta
Equipped with great vocal range and a strong emotional impact temperament, the soprano from Vicenza is considered a reference artist of the great Italian tradition for the dramatic repertoire of agility, from Mozart to Rossini, from the most demanding Belcanto to the young Verdi, up to even the most lyrical Puccini thanks to his solid technique and natural ability to link sounds. Silvia Dalla Benetta is now considered a cornerstone of serious Rossini's work, with unanimous consent of critics and audiences.
Among the commitments of the 2020 there is a Requiem Mass in Monaco Monte-Carlo, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Piacenza the return to the Verdi Festival in Parma with the French version of Macbeth and the New Year's Eve Concert in Piacenza.
In 2019 Semiramide in Bilbao, Requiem Mass in Taranto and Matera, the return to the Rossini Festival in Wildbad with a concert dedicated to some unpublished pages by Rossini, Vesprae Solennes de Confessor in Catania, the debut in the role of the Lady in Macbeth in Pavia, What, Brescia and Cremona.
In 2018 played Micaëla in Carmen in Liège, Small Solemn Mass, Sinaïde in Moïse and Zelmira at the Rossini Festival in Wildbad, Summer concert in Liegi, Gulnara in Il corsaro a Modena, Amalthea in Moses in Egypt in Pisa and Novara.
In 2017 sang at the Final Concerto of the Al Bustan Festival in Beirut with excerpts from Nabucco and Aida, Norma in Ferrara, Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutti in Mexico City, Mozart's Mass in C minor, Zenobia in Aureliano in Palmira and Cristina in Eduardo and Cristina at the Rossini Festival in Wildbad, Hélène in Jerusalem at the Parma Green Festival, Norma in Charleroi and Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow in Catania.
He opened the season 2015/2016 with Elisabetta in Elizabeth Queen of England in Sassari and Gulnara in Il corsaro at the Verdi Festival in Parma; then, after a tour in South Korea and one in China, made her debut as Marguerite in Les Huguenots at the Nice Opera and returned to interpret Norma in Lucerne. He also made his debut as Bianca in Bianca and Gernando at the Rossini Festival in Wildbad, in Aida at the Mediterranean Festival in Malta and in the eponymous role in Sakuntala by Alfano in Catania. He concluded the year with a tour in Hungary for the Bartók Plusz Operafesztivál accompanied by the Mav Symphony Orchestra of Budapest.
The Season 2014/2015 saw her as the interpreter of Donna Anna in Don Giovanni in Pisa, Abigaille in Nabucco at the Mediterranean Festival in Malta, Elvira in Ernani at the National Opera of Lithuania, Semiramis at the Nice Opera, Fiorilla in Il Turco in Italy in Catania, the double role of Sophia / Heronyma in Hatzinasios El Greco's new opera in Athens, Eleonora in Von Lindpaintner's Il vespro siciliano and Isabella in L’inganno felice at the Rossini Festival in Wildbad.
In the Season 2013/2014 there followed the successes in Elvira in Ernani at the National Opera of Lithuania, Alice in Falstaff in Sassari and Jesi, Verdi's Requiem Mass in Jesi, Norma at the National Theater of Croatia and Micaela in Carmen in Genoa, as well as a recital dedicated to the greatest queens of opera: Anna Bolena, Lucrezia Borgia, Cleopatra, Elizabeth Queen of England, Don carlo, Roberto Devereux, Semiramide, at the Olympic Theater in Vicenza and at the Alfieri Theater in Asti, of which a CD has been released by Kikko Music.
In 2012/2013 she was acclaimed by the public and critics in Liù in Turandot in Pisa, Lucia di Lammermoor in Fermo, Violetta in La traviata at the Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat, in addition to the concert directed by Andrea Battistoni dedicated to Rigoletto, The Troubadour, La traviata at the Verdi Festival in Parma and at the recital directed by Giampaolo Bisanti at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza in which she masterfully interpreted Verdi's women with the most famous pieces, passing from Oberto Conte di San Bonifacio to Ernani, The corsair, Luisa Miller, The Troubadour, The Traviata, Aida, The force of Destiny, Don carlo, Sicilian Vespers. At the Verdi Festival in Parma he also performed the roles of Giselda in I Lombardi alla prima crociata and Gulnara in Il corsaro, published on DVD by Unitel Classica, work then resumed in Bilbao, receiving a warm and personal triumph on both occasions.
Silvia Dalla Benetta has been considered by critics and by the many international feedbacks of enthusiastic audiences, reference interpreter for the role of Violetta in La traviata, opera that gave her the greatest satisfaction on some of the most prestigious international stages such as the Teatro Regio di Torino (Manager: M. Armiliato; Direction: L. Pelly), Maggio Musicale Fiorentinio (Manager: G. Byzantium; Direction: F. Ripa di Meana), Arena di Verona Foundation (Manager: G. Martinenghi; Direction: G. Sepe), Carlo Felice Theater in Genoa (Manager: F. Carminati; Direction: H. Brockhaus), Opera in Toronto Mississauga (Manager: F. Bonnin; Direction: R. Bernal), Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago (Manager: F. Carminati; Direction: P. Trevisi) subsequently screened in all the cinemas of the most important Italian cities, Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat.
His very particular vocality and fierce technique in agility singing and in dampening the sounds at the edge of the lip with an uncommon ability to bind, they have guaranteed her great successes in the more markedly bel canto roles such as: Rule(Pisa, Cremona, Pavia, What, Brescia, Trento, Zagreb, Lucerne, Ferrara, Charleroi), Lucia of Lammermoor(Cagliari, Trieste, Udine, Pordenone, Stop, Wiesbaden, Bern, Missisauga, St. Gallen, Leghorn, Pisa, Lucca, Ravenna), Semiramide(Leghorn, Rovigo, Trento, Pisa, Les Musicales du Luberon Festival, Nice, Bilbao); Fiorilla in Il Turco in Italy(Pisa, Trieste, Vicenza, Hamburg, Catania); the four roles of Olympia, Juliet, Antonia and Stella in Hoffmann’s Tales(Lombard Opera Circuit).
There was no shortage of more frankly lyrical roles in the great operatic repertoire, always sung at the highest levels and in the most prestigious theaters: Mimì took turns in La Bohème(Palma de Mallorca, Hong Kong), Micaëla in Carmen(Arena of Verona, Novara, Palermo, Genoa, Liege), Alice in Falstaff(Leghorn, Lucca, Pisa, Ravenna, You are, Sassari), Hanna Glawari in Lehar's Merry Widow (Trieste, Genoa, Verona, Catania).
Great charisma, expresses on stage so much that she is one of the most appreciated artists by directors such as Henning Brockhaus, Ana Hugo, Laurent Pelly, Daniele Abbado, Franco Zeffirelli, Jonathan Miller and the late Lamberto Puggelli. It combines a great concert activity with the operatic repertoire and is directed by some of the most prestigious international drumsticks such as Roberto Abbado, Andrea Battistoni, Giampaolo Bisanti, Daniele Callegari, Antonino Fogliani, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Nicola Luisotti, Carlo Montanaro, Piergiorgio Morandi, Daniel Oren, Renato Palumbo, Donato Renzetti, Jose Miguel Perez-Sierra, Jonathan Webb.
She graduated from the "Benedetto Marcello" Conservatory in Venice with full marks and honors and then continued her studies with Romano Gandolfi, Aldo Ceccato, Stella Silva, Mirella Parutto, Alida Ferrarini, Ida Adami Corradetti, Luciana Serra, Denia Mazzola, Sherman Lowe, Renata Scotto.
In 2004 won the Sanremo Opera Competition, thus opening up to an international career.

Gifted with an astonishing vocal extension and a temperament of strong emotional impact Silvia Dalla Benetta has truly become one of the most renowned sopranos of the great Italian tradition in the dramatic coloratura repertoire. The Vincenza-born soprano, thanks to her amazing technique and her natural ability to tie notes, carries us from Mozart to Rossini, from hard Belcanto to young Verdi, to lyrical Puccini. Today Silvia Dalla Benetta is truly considered by both the critique and the public one of the best interpreters of Rossini’s dramatic roles.
In 2019 we will see her in Semiramide in Bilbao, Requiem Mass in Taranto and Matera, once more at the Rossini Festival in Bad Wilbad in a concert featuring some of Rossini’s unpublished work, Vesprae Solennes de Confessore in Catania. We will see her in Pavia for her debut in the role of Lady Macbeth in Verdi’s Macbeth and then in Como, Brescia and Cremona. In 2020 Requiem Mass in Monaco Monte-Carlo, a concert in Piacenza, the French version of Macbeth at the Festival Verdi in Parma and the New Year Eve Concert in Piacenza.

In 2017 Slivia Dalla Benetta appeared at the Concerto Finale for the Al Bustan Festival in Beirut with arias from Nabucco and Aida. The Italian soprano started her 2015/2016 season with Elisabetta in Elisabetta, Queen of England in Sassari. Then she sang Gulnara in Il corsaro at the prestigious Festival Verdi Parma, Marguerite in Les Huguenots at the Nice Opera House, Norma in Lucerne, Bianca in Bianca and Gernando at the Rossini in Wildbad Festival, Aida in Malta, Sakuntala in Alfano's The legend of Sakuntala in Catania and Opera Gala Concerts in Hungary with MAV symphony orchestra.
In the 2014/2015 season the Italian soprano excelled in her role debut as Abigaille in Nabucco in Gozo, Malta, having previously debuted as Elvira in Ernani at the Lithuanian National Opera of Vilnius; Semiramide in Nice, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni in Pisa, Fiorilla in Il Turco in Italy in Catania, Sophia/Heronyma in the world premiere of Hatzinasios’s El Greco in Athens, Eleonora in Lindpaintner's Il vespro siciliano and Isabella in L’inganno felice at the Rossini in Wildbad Festival.
The 2013/2014 season was marked by her interpretations of two Verdian roles, Requiem Mass in Jesi and Alice in Falstaff in Sassari and Jesi, as well as by performances of Bellini’s Norma in Zagreb and Micaëla in Carmen at the Teatro Carlo Felice of Genoa and gala concerts in Vicenza’s Teatro Olimpico and the Teatro Alfieri of Asti.
Silvia Dalla Benetta's extensive repertoire includes roles such as Gulnara in Il corsaro (Parma Verdi Festival, ABAO Bilbao and Modena), Giselda in The Lombards at the First Crusade (Regio Theater of Parma), Cio-Cio San in Madama Butterfly (in tour with the Teatro Verdi of Trieste), Mimì in La Bohème (Palma de Mallorca and the Hong Kong Performing Arts Center), Liù in Turandot (Verdi Theater of Pisa), Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow (Trieste's Verdi Theater, Genoa's Carlo Felice Theater, the Arena di Verona Foundation and Catania's Massimo Bellini Theater), Micaëla in Carmen (Arena of Verona, Massimo Theater of Palermo, the aforementioned production of the Carlo Felice and Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège), Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust (Coccia Theater of Novara), Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (Trieste), and the four women of Les contes d’Hoffmann (Lombard Opera Circuit).
Silvia Dalla Benetta’s brilliant interpretation of Violetta Valéry in Verdi’s La traviata has been a point of reference in excellence by both the critique and a very enthusiatic public ; performances for which she’s received personal ovation in premiere theaters such as Turin’s Teatro Regio, the Maggio Musicale of Florence, the Arena in Verona, the Carlo Felice Theater, Toronto’s Mississauga Opera, the Puccini Festival of Torre del Lago (with transmission in cinemas throughout Italy), and the Mohammed V National Theater of Rabat.
Belcanto repertoire has likewise played a significant role in Dalla Benetta’s wide-ranging career, with successes as Norma (Pisa, Cremona, Pavia, What, Brescia, Trento, Zagreb, Luzern, Ferrara and Charleroi), the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor (Cagliari, Trieste, Stop, Wiesbaden, Bern, Mississauga, St. Gallen, Leghorn, Pisa, Lucca, and Ravenna), Rossini’s Semiramide (Leghorn, Rovigo, Trento, Pisa, Les Musicales du Luberon Festival, Nice and Bilbao), and Fiorilla in The Turkish in Italy (Vicenza, Hamburg, Pisa, Trieste, Catania).
Silvia Dalla Benetta has collaborated with conductors Roberto Abbado, Andrea Battistoni, Giampaolo Bisanti, Daniele Callegari, Antonino Fogliani, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Nicola Luisotti, Carlo Montanaro, Piergiorgio Morandi, Daniel Oren, Renato Palumbo, Donato Renzetti, Jose Miguel Perez-Sierra, Jonathan Webb among others, as well as stage directors Franco Zeffirelli, Jonathan Miller, Daniele Abbado, Laurent Pelly, Hugo De Ana and Henning Brockhaus.
The Vicenza-born soprano studied at the Conservatorio “Benedetto Marcello” of Venice and counts among her teachers Romano Gandolfi, Aldo Ceccato, Stella Silva, Mirella Parutto, Alida Ferrarini, Ida Adami Corradetti, Luciana Serra, Denia Mazzola, Sherman Lowe, and Renata Scotto. She was the 2004 winner of the Sanremo Opera Competition.
